Use Browse Publications to look for a source by title and then get a listing of the editions, volumes, and/or issues within that publication. Selecting a specific edition/volume/issue will retrieve all available documents. Types of publications you can browse for may include magazines, journals, newspapers, reference works, and other source materials, depending on the database(s) you are searching.
Here's how to use the Browse Publications search:
Follow the link on the Currently Searching message line below the search type bar to view the database(s) which are being cross-searched.
The Browse Publications page displays an alphabetical list of all publications. You may search for publications containing a word or words that you enter and/or you may filter the display using the left-hand sidebar. Each source listed shows its full title and the publication format. Hovering the mouse over a title displays in a pop-up window some or all of the following information, where relevant to the type of publication: ISBN or ISSN, publisher, number of issues per year, audience (general, academic, professional, etc.), format (magazine, academic journal, newspaper, etc.), country of origin, language, and the years for which indexing and/or full-text coverage are available. Click the View Detailed Information link to go to the Publication Details page. Or close the pop-up window and hover over another title.
If the list of publications exceeds a page, use the back and forward arrow icons, which will appear at both the top and bottom of the Browse Publications page, to page through the list. You may also enter one or more words in the search box at the top of the list and click the Go button to search within the list , and optionally enter one or more search limiters.
When using the Find box to search for publications with titles matching the search term(s) you enter, you may wish to filter your search using the options shown in the left-hand sidebar, which includes limiting by:
| Limiter | Description |
|---|---|
| documents with full text | You can limit the results of your search to include only documents with full text, thus eliminating any citation-only and abstract-only articles. Depending on how your location is set up, the box might be checked by default. |

The subject(s) you select will be automatically filled in on the search page. |
| Country of Publication | Use this option to limit your search by the country of publication. You can search for countries, or you can browse a list of all publication countries found in the database from a pop-up window by clicking Browse Country of Publication. | Language of Publication | Use this option to limit your search by the language of publication. You can search for language, or you can browse a list of all languages found in the database from a pop-up window by clicking Browse Language of Publication. The language(s) you select will be automatically filled in on the search page. |
Enter any limiter and the screen will refresh itself and display a dynamic list of periodical titles, as filtered by the limiter you selected.
