To assist businesses capitalizing on the advantages of communication technology, National E-mail and Fax Directory (NEFD) identifies major businesses, agencies, and organizations in the United States, including:

Using E-mail and Fax Technology

The National E-mail and Fax Directory is designed to provide needed information to the businesses, libraries, and individuals who support legitimate and ethical uses of e-mail and fax transmission. It is in no way intended to support illegitimate or illegal uses. The editors encourage the users of this book to consult with the Federal Communications Commission, their state Public Utilities Commissions, or other equivalent bodies to become familiar with the laws governing e-mail and fax transmissions in their respective states.

Section 2: Method of Compilation

The National E-mail and Fax Directory is drawn primarily from the extensive databases of Gale. Each Gale database used is compiled through original research and is updated in a timely, ongoing manner. Many additional listings were located through original research; others were obtained through use of secondary sources deemed accurate by the editors.

Section 3: What You'll Find in a NEFD Entry and Searchable Fields

National E-mail and Fax Directory (NEFD) can help your business contact major businesses, agencies, and organizations via four possible methods of communication: e-mail, fax, telephone, and mailing address. The main method used to store entries is by the name of the organization; however, there many ways to find entries, including by Keyword, or by some other specific field of data using Advanced Search (refer to the Corresponding Advanced Search Index(es) column in the table below).

When you search for entries, your search results will show the main fields of data, enough to give you a brief view of the organization listed. The full entry can be viewed on the entry display page by selecting the entry name from your results list.
