The entry display page provides you with extended citation information, the complete entry and, where applicable, links to any external Web sites and/or e-mail address(es), when known. For entries spanning more than one page, use your browser's scroll bar to view the full entry. You may see your search terms highlighted wherever they appear within the entry, depending on the type of search used and your session preferences.
Entries begin with the name of the entry and the contact information, and then the remaining fields of information are displayed. The following partial screen print shows a sample entry:
Below the entry you'll find the Source Citation information and the How to Cite link (which may display as an icon: ). Clicking this link or icon takes you to the Generate a Citation page.
|Note: Refer to the "The eDirectories Available in this Resource" Help page for a complete listing of all eDirectories that are searchable using Gale Directory Library. From there, select an eDirectory title to go to a description of the directory and an explanation the fields of information you'll find in when viewing an entry on the entry display page.|
You can download an electronic business card (vCard) in .VCF format for a single named individual within an entry. The vCard will contain the contact information as shown within the entry (name, title, organization, address, phone, email and so on). Click on the VCF icon after the name of the contact and your browser will prompt you to save the file. You may open the file with Microsoft Outlook or Outlook Express; Microsoft Excel; Apple Address Book; Palm Desktop or any application that can edit/view VCF files. Note that the VCF format is compatible with Macs and PCs.
Below the Directories tab name you'll find the current entry's position in your results list or Marked Items list. For example, if 36 entries were found and you are currently viewing the third one, the system will display: "Article 3 of 36." The Previous and Next links on either side (repeated at the bottom of each page) let you go forward or backward one entry at a time, or you can enter an entry position number and click Go to jump to that entry.
To the left of the entry positioning controls, you'll see a Mark box. Click on the box to add the entry to your Marked Items list (an entry that you have added to your Marked Items list will show a check mark in the checkbox). You can also save the entry for future retrieval by clicking the InfoMark icon on the toolbar.
Whenever they appear in entries, the following fields are hyperlinks allowing you to find additional related entries: geographic fields, officers, subjects, and sections.
Use the breadcrumb trail to return to your results list or the search page where you can revise your search. You can also click the Results link under the tab name to return to your results page. Note that these links do not appear when you are displaying a document from your Marked Items list or via an InfoMark link.
